匡汉晖,男,1967年生于江西泰和。1988年获江西农业大学学士学位;1991年获北京林业大学硕士学位;1994-1998年在美国佐治亚大学(University of Georgia)学习,获博士学位。博士毕业后于1998-2007年分别在以色列海法大学(University of Haifa)、美国加州大学戴维斯分校(University of California, Davis)和伯克莱分校(University of California, Berkeley)从事蔬菜抗病研究工作, 研究内容包括植物抗病基因的基因组学、群体遗传学、分子进化、抗病基因克隆等。匡博士第一次详细论述植物中的抗病基因不同的进化速度,为抗病基因的保存、利用以及快速克隆提供理论基础。2008年受聘为长江学者特聘教授。现为华中农业大学园艺林学学院蔬菜系教授,博士生导师。

研究方向:
课题组的研究领域是植物分子遗传和基因组学。具体研究方向是植物抗病基因以及蔬菜特异性状的遗传和分子机理。现有(2014)研究课题为:
1、抗病基因基因组学:植物中的抗病基因的全基因组分析,侧重其分子进化
2、抗病基因的快速克隆。利用第二代测序技术与BSA相结合快速定位抗病基因。利用VIGS技术快速鉴定抗性候选基因
3、蔬菜花青素高含量的遗传与分子机理。通过遗传方法定位和克隆调控花青素含量的基因,并分析其作用机理。
4、变态膨大茎的遗传和分子机理。莴笋、榨菜、苤蓝等变态茎膨大的遗传和分子机理。
5、生菜、甘蓝结球性状的遗传和分子机理。
6、生菜不同叶型发育的分子机理
7、植物中微型转座子的基因组学
