现任北京航空航天大学材料学院“卓越百人计划”特聘教授,中组部“青年****”入选者。2013年担任美国爱荷华州立大学材料系研究助理教授(Faculty);2009年获得美国洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室“院长奖博士后研究员”荣誉(比例6/300);2005年获得德国洪堡基金会“洪堡学者”荣誉;2005年获得清华大学“优秀博士论文一等奖”和“优秀博士毕业生”称号。
主要围绕材料“结构与性能”关系,在硬质和超硬材料、金属基纳米复合材料和能源材料等领域展开深入系统研究。在材料科学领域具有理论计算和实验工作两方面研究背景。计算材料科学领域侧重综合运用经典热力学/统计学理论,分子动力学模拟和第一性原理等先进计算方法对金属合金体系,氮化物、碳化物、氧化物和硼化物等陶瓷体系的结构、物理性质、力学性能、相变机理和界面行为等进行系统的科学研究。实验方面侧重使用快速凝固、物理气相沉积及离子束混合等技术进行各种亚稳晶态及非晶态材料制备;应用透射电子显微镜和x-射线衍射等技术对材料晶体结构与显微结构进行表征。迄今发表学术论文70篇(第一作者48篇),被SCI引用1000多次,H因子=20,学术报告20余次。其中包括2篇Phys. Rev. Lett., 10篇Acta Mater.,14篇Phys. Rev. B,6篇Appl. Phys. Lett.,1篇Inter. J. Plasticity,1篇Chem. Mater.,1篇J. Phys. Chem. B等。部分代表性论文如下:
