第四届新结构经济学夏令营报名正式启动。申请和报名采取在线申请和投递材料的形式。提交申请所需材料包括:个人简历、研究计划、写作样本、两封推荐信,通过以下网址http://jsform.com/f/okq9ct在2017年5月14日(北京时间)之前提交。中心将为获选人提供住宿,非常优秀的学员将有机会拿到奖学金报销往返旅费。详情见下方报名英文公告。往届营员感想、新结构经济学参考书目和文献见文末。
新结构经济学夏令营是一年一度的新结构经济学的学术盛宴,旨在促进新结构经济学的传播和后备人才的培养,鼓励海内外优秀学子从现实出发,关注并研究经济发展中的结构转型问题。迄今为止,夏令营已于2014年6月、2015年7月、2016年7月成功举办三届,每届营期约5-7天,营员在50人左右,分别来自国际和国内各高校、科研院所和其它机构。夏令营邀请海内外知名学者授课,除了密集的学术集训和高强度的头脑风暴外,还安排学员赴外地实地调研,以期将理论学习与实践探索有机结合。
本届夏令营是北京大学新结构经济学研究中心正式成立后举办的第二届,与以往相比,授课阵容更为强大,不仅包括新结构经济学的思想(Lin)、方法论(Ju)和理论研究(Wang,Grossman),还包括新结构经济学在中国(Zhang,Wen&Fu)、韩国(Lee)以及非洲国家(Wang,Monga&Xu)的实践应用,全方位多角度呈现新结构经济学“知成一体”的框架体系,并将安排赴河北河间市进行为期一天的实地考察,以期获得关于产业转型升级的感性认识和第一手数据。夏令营还将选出优秀的研究计划书,进行表彰和后续研究资助;中心招聘时会优先考虑夏令营优秀营员(招聘岗位包括项目研究专员、博士后、研究员和助理教授等)。

The 4th Summer School on New Structural Economics
July 1 – July 5, Peking University, Beijing, China
Proposed and championed by Professor Justin Yifu Lin, New Structural Economics (NSE) applies a neoclassical approach to study the determinants of structural change with a special focus on how to help developing countries achieve economic transformation. The NSE has been endorsed by renowned economists worldwide, including more than 10 Nobel Laureates such as Joseph Stiglitz, Gary Becker and Michael Spence, and is taken as the third wave in development economics after Structuralism and neoliberalism.
The 4th Summer School on New Structural Economics at Peking University aims to select a core group of postgraduate students and junior researchers who are keen to learn theoretical frameworks, empirical application, and methodology of New Structural Economics.

The summer school will also include a one-day field visit to gain some first-hand experiences of industrial parks in the city of Hejian of Hebei Province in China.
Applicants are expected to submit a research proposal related to New Structural Economics. We encourage applicants to apply the fresh perspective of New Structural Economics to conduct empirically-grounded studies on a wide range of topics including but not limited to structural changes, industrial upgrading, industrial parks, technological catch-up, labor markets, financial development, economic transition, international trade and finance. Theoretical and methodological explorations are also welcome.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to get advice from the lecturers during the summer school to further improve their research proposals. At the end of the summer school, the organizer will select excellent proposals for funding for further research.

4. Two Reference Letters

The CNSE will cover the local accommodation for all participants during the summer school. Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding candidates to cover their transportation costs of travelling from their place of residence to Beijing (economic-class flights or trains).
