主要科研领域与方向: 功能基因组与蛋白质组学。
科学成就：
参加完成了家蚕全基因组框架图谱和精细图的绘制工作，建立了家蚕蛋白质组学研究平台,为实验室家蚕蛋白质组学研究的学术带头人。主要以家蚕作为鳞翅目昆虫的模式生物，利用分子生物学和蛋白质组学研究技术对昆虫重要的功能蛋白进行研究。基于家蚕全基因组序列，重点对丝腺重要特异功能基因、家蚕30K蛋白和丝氨酸蛋白酶及抑制剂进行了系统分析和功能研究；建立了一套适合于家蚕功能基因组研究的双向电泳和质谱分析的技术体系，培养了一批从事蛋白质组学研究的技术人材，建立了家蚕各组织器官的蛋白质图谱数据库；通过对家蚕不同发育时期及不同组织器官的比较蛋白质组学研究，发现了一批与丝蛋白合成、家蚕变态发育和免疫防御相关的重点蛋白，其功能的研究为高性能新型蚕丝纤维的研发和抗病育种的培育奠定了基础。同时主持863项目子课题、国家自然科学基金、省部级课题6项，主研“973”、“863”、国家自然科学基金和省市级重点项目10余项。获重庆市自然科学奖一等奖1项。近年来在SCIENCE，PLoS ONE,，BMC Genomics，Proteome Science，The Protein Journa等重要学术刊物上发表研究论文40余篇。
